Position Description:

Job Summary:
HALIS is a full service geospatial firm specializing in Aerial Surveying, Remote Sensing, Mapping, and GIS. We are currently looking to fill a LiDAR Analyst position immediately. Previous experience in a LiDAR production environment is required for this position. Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the LiDAR Analyst will be expected to work at a high level supporting a range of geospatial data production projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• LiDAR calibration/adjustment
• LiDAR point cloud classification/editing
• Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation and editing
• Orthoimagery production
• Heads-up digitizing planimetric features
• Data validation

Additional as-needed Duties and Responsibilities:
• GIS feature extraction and attribution
• Oblique imagery and video processing
• UAV data processing
• Operating GNSS Base Stations
• Operating Weather Stations
• Troubleshoot hardware/software
• If interested, there may be potential to be cross trained on operating our aerial sensors, which would mean opportunities to travel around the country.

• 2-5 years of related experience in a LiDAR production environment
• Thrives well in fast-paced production environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Must be able to think spatially
• Must have high attention to detail
• Must be comfortable working with high performance computers and cutting edge technology
• Must be responsible
• Clean driving record and background

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Computer Science or closely related field
• Experience with LiDAR processing software TerraSolid
• Electric Utility experience
• Strong problem solving skills, out of the box thinker
• Experience using ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop, Global Mapper, ENVI, and other GIS or Remote Sensing software
• CAD experience (AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD)
• Programming and scripting experience
• Understanding of aerial surveying principles (photogrammetry, GNSS/IMU, LiDAR)

Working conditions and Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for long periods of time
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to both outdoor and Indoor conditions
• Must be able to hear, see, and talk with or without reasonable accommodation
