The primary purpose of this position is to research, test and apply predictive modeling methodologies in order to develop the most accurate model for predicting DIY sales and new stores. This includes integrating the predictive models into the new store approval process to support new store development. The secondary purpose is to support new store development by performing trade area-and market-level sales analysis. The job also provides modeling to support relocations, expansions, and commercial program placement.
Research, test and apply predictive modeling techniques to historical store performance and related trade area demographics and store characteristics to determine those factors that most reliably predict store performance.
Create predictive models based on those factors will provide Research and Real Estate sales estimates for approximately 3,000 identified potential trade areas.
Performs ad-hoc analysis of store performance in specific markets to support the approval process for new store locations.
Perform ad-hoc analysis of historical sales data; vehicle, demographic, and operational data; and competitive activity data to support decision making by department management.
Work with other members of the Research group and the Real Estate group to improve the research group processes and the new store approval process.
