GIS/Open Data Project Manager

Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Project Manager.

Primary Job Duties: To manage all aspects of GIS/Open Data projects including project planning, setting the technical direction, and communicating with clients. Specific attention will be paid to open data initiatives, including open data software, working with various data formats, and developing ETL processes. The successful candidate must be able to provide GIS analyst support through data processing, database development, data management and analysis, data/process automation, and representation at meetings.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors' degree and 3 - 5 years of GIS experience with project management experience. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Current GISP certification; proficiency with: ArcGis suite, Socrata software solutions, open data initiatives, data visualization, and ETL tools. Familiarity with data formats such as JSON, XML, SQL, and CSV.

This is a full-time, exempt, 12 month, contingent II position with limited benefits. While the position will be an employee of Salisbury University, it will be based in Crownsville, Maryland. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
