Pennichuck Corporation is a private water utility engaged in the collection, storage, treatment, distribution and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. We operate both as a regulated water utility operation and a non-regulated water management service. Our Corporate headquarters is located in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

GIS Administrator, GISP

We are seeking an experienced GIS Administrator to monitor, optimize and administer our enterprise geographic information system (GIS) t. This key role will direct and participate in our long-term development and enhancement of GIS information technology to meet Company mapping and end user service objectives.
Our Company currently maintains an Enterprise GIS environment that is tightly integrated with multiple systems within the organization including asset management. Our GIS environment consists of a centralized enterprise GIS database (SQL) with web capabilities provided by ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS.
In this position, you will:
• Monitor, optimize, and administer the Company’s GIS environment: work closely with end users to identify GIS requirements, address technical issues, optimize the GIS, and train users.
• Analyze current business processes and recommend and apply GIS technology to enhance systems and apply efficiencies to existing workflows.
• Create and maintain GIS files and associated media such as; digital pictures of streets and street problems, scanned documents, scanned plans, and video. Maintain links for this information through the GIS for department use;
• Develop and update water distribution GIS and associated layers.
• Incorporate maps, charts, data files, spreadsheet data, documentation and text into GIS. Report on data as needed.
• Analyze and document user work processes and provide ideas for improving workflows.
• Document systems and systems functionality requirements. ;
• Design, develop, implement, and test configuration changes in packaged software such as ESRI, SQL, and Oracle to meet end user business requirements;
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve GIS applications; communicate with internal and external technical resources to resolve end user issues; provide guidance to users on methods for correcting reported problems.
Qualifications for this role include:
• BS degree with a major in GIS or Computer Science with the following certifications: GISP: ESRI Desktop Associate.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in the design and development of GIS systems and applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including
o computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation and analysis;
o GIS database administration and management principles, methods and techniques, including quality control methods and practices;
o GIS software tools and applications including but not limited to ArcGIS, ArcSDE, Portal/ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server. AutoCAD suite, and applications of MS Office Suite;
o Advanced ArcGIS Desktop skills
o principles and practices of GIS analysis and design;
o hardware and software applications development methods, tools and utilities applicable to the GIS system.
• Strong organizational, analysis and communications skills with the ability to effectively interface with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to train staff on the use of GIS technology
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing
• Prior experience with some type of utility network, either collection or distribution, is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance and quality assurance of a utility network in an enterprise GIS environment a strong plus
