TCarta seeks a Marine Remote Sensing Production Team Lead to steer their experienced and motivated production team. This role is critical to ensuring delivery of data to very high quality standards. The successful candidate will be a meticulous, organized, ambitious team leader, with the ability to problem-solve, coordinate resources and design products under their own initiative. The team leadís technical experience must include significant experience in utilising state-of-the-art software to classify and extract information from very high resolution multi-spectral satellite imagery, with proven measures of data quality being a constant consideration.
As a Marine Remote Sensing Production Team Lead you will direct the production team in developing new products derived from very high resolution multi-spectral satellite imagery (for example, bathymetry and sea floor classification), and ensuring that the team can output such products to specified quality levels and within set time frames. We are looking for a candidate with a proven eye for detail and the necessary technical skills and experience to manage an efficient, creative team of remote sensing analysts.
The ideal candidate will have:
A Masterís degree + 2-3 years additional experience or PhD in Remote Sensing or similar;
A minimum of two years working in marine remote sensing.
Direct experience in production of satellite derived bathymetry and/or satellite seafloor classification is advantageous;
Understanding and experience of delivering remote sensing data to specified quality standards, with commercial project experience being advantageous;
Experience in a remote sensing software package, as well as a GIS software package (with knowledge of EXELLIS ENVI and ESRI software being advantageous);
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs, with software coding skills expected;
Good verbal, written and technical communication skills with a meticulous attention to detail;
Ability to work within high pressure situations and tight delivery deadlines;
Ability to work independently, proactively and be flexible in responding to change.
Role and Responsibilities:
Leads production team to produce new and innovative marine data products;
Creates satellite derived marine data from multiple imagery sources;
Creates and oversees data production work flows, with a focus on automation and quality control;
Balances oversight of broad production team goals with supporting other company remote sensing initiatives as and when required.
