Position Description:

Summary:
GeoCGI is seeking GIS Analysts to support Marine Corps Planning Directorates and the Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) Program. The candidate shall be responsible for creating, maintaining, editing, reviewing and documenting geospatial products and services for the installation. This position will work closely with installation staff and Sr. Regional GIS Analysts to gather requirements and provide input and feedback on the design of planning specific data layers and associated metadata. He/she must be able to operate and manage geospatial data in an enterprise environment. The candidate will be responsible for creating custom maps and other cartographic products, including story maps or map books, in addition to processing complex analyses and geospatial queries. He/she will train installation personnel on the use of enterprise geospatial data, tools, and applications, and will be available for technical support to staff without a GIS background.

The candidate must be able to communicate complex and highly technical concepts with senior leadership for business and proposal development. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Analyst supporting Federal and DoD Geospatial Programs, which include:

• Create high quality cartographic products aligned with programmatic standards
• Manage installation geospatial data in an enterprise geodatabase
• Work with the project manager to establish milestones, schedules and work plans
• Assist installation personnel in adopting geospatial technology to aid decision making
• Design, test, implement highly complex two and three-dimensional geospatial analysis enhancing an installation’s ability to make sound investment decisions
• Communicate standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics required
• Possess a strong understanding of information technologies including web services, RDBMS, networking, and storage technologies
• Seek methods to improve data access and management through automated procedures

Experience:
The potential candidate shall have the following level of experience:
• 1 to 3 years of experience with ArcGIS 10.x, enterprise geospatial technology, and spatial data standards
• Preferred candidate will have knowledge of DoD IGI&S operations and data standards including Spatial Data Standard for Facilities Infrastructure and the Environment (SDSFIE)

Requirements:
The following are requirements of the potential candidate:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, GIS, or computer related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance
• Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop, Portal for ArcGIS, and/or ArcGIS Online
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
• Excellent writing and communication skills

Desired:
The following are desired characteristics of the potential candidate:
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, GIS, or computer related field
• Geospatial Information Systems Professional (GISP) Certification
• CompTIA Security + Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience with Python, T-SQL, SQL, PL/SQL, or other RDBMS tools
