VSolvit is seeking to at a Senior GIS Developer to work in support of our USDA customer. The Sr. GIS Developer will be responsible for the maintenance and development of both desktop and web mapping applications in .NET framework using ArcGIS Server, .NET ADF, ArcGIS Server, and JavaScript API. Sr. Developer will be a key contributor to our GIS team and responsible for trouble shooting issues with current GIS applications, development of new geo-processing tools, work with ArcSDE databases/ArcGIS Server, and be able to streamline existing geospatial procedures. The Sr. GIS Web Developer is responsible for building ArcGIS Desktop tools, and installing and configuring ArcGIS Server. In this role you will assume responsibility of full project lifecycle on assigned projects. You must have the ability to work in a diverse group of GIS development staff and represent VSolvit quality standards. Work will be onsite.


Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, MIS, or related field and 8+ years’ experience, OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, MIS, or related field and 5+ years’ experience.
- Minimum 5 year of software development experience ideally with ESRI Web APIs (JavaScript).
- 4+ years software development experience using Java, C#, XML, ArcGIS tools etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong development experience with ESRI ArcGIS product suite (including ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server).
- Technical training in GIS, UI design, Web programming, and Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience with industry-standard technologies such as Java, XML, JSON, GEOJSON, JavaScript, HTML, Web services, SOAP/REST, application servers, and/or Web servers.
- Experience with SQL databases. 3-4 years’ experience leading a team of developers or working as a Senior GIS developer.
- Familiarity with Leaflet and ESRI Leaflet.
- Excellent problem-solving, verbal and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills.
- Experience working in Java based environment.
- Should be a self-starter.
- Public Trust security clearance preferred or ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust
