Standardized Summary of Responsibilities: Mapping & Records
Demonstrate and direct a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
Assist with preparing and maintaining specialized electrical schematic drawings such as Transmission, Network, and UCD system circuits using AutoCAD. Reconcile connectivity and attributes with GIS, other records systems and actual installations.
Assist in developing and manipulating GIS queries of data for investigations, special projects and statistical analysis.
Assist operations services personnel to resolve issues with GIS, AutoCAD, and GIS View systems.
Receive, process and file all incoming records.
Participate in safety meetings and training.
Review work request packages and plan the work, update maps, prints and GIS design.
Post completed work requests to GIS database, and maps and records systems by interpreting construction prints, and work management information.
Use automated processes to digitize new GIS features.
Import sub-division maps into GIS Design.
Review work requests for accuracy and perform visual cleanup of GIS map as required.
Recommended Minimum Education and Work Experience:
Education Related Work Experience Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline + 0-1 years of related work experience Associates degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline + 2-3 years of related work experience High School Diploma (or GED) + 4+ years of related work experience
Proficiency in the use of computer aided drafting (CAD/AutoCAD) obtained through formal instruction and work experience is preferred.
Proficiency at PC software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Outlook, SAP, and geographical information system (GIS) is preferred.
Experience with database query tools (Toad Data point, Hyperion/BRIO, Business Explorer Analyzer (BEX), Cognos); experience using Visual Basic obtained through formal courses or work experience is a plus.
Gain knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC).
Gain an understanding of the Companys Accident Prevention Handbook and practical application in the workplace.
Interpret work requests, engineering drawings, schematics, equipment instruction manuals and procedures to aid in the development of accurate work plans.
Gain knowledge of:
The purpose, function, and operating characteristics of equipment, and residential, commercial, and utility electrical distribution and control systems
Gain an understanding and knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements as appropriate.
Develop, collect, organize, and analyze information from a variety of sources to develop reports and provide information on backlog and productivity.
Professionalism to work with engineer and management personnel, as well as interface and work cooperatively with customers, contractors and the general public, in a courteous manner that demonstrates company rules of engagement.
Maintain strong working relationships at all levels.
Self-motivated and able to multi-task with competing priorities.
