Title: Junior Telecommunications Specialist
Location: Dahlgren, VA
The Junior Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for supporting a wide variety of activities such as the basic design and analysis of broadband technology, signal transmission systems, data transmission systems, and computer operating systems. Work is completed in a team environment and supports the assessments of infrastructure around the world.
Collect and synthesize technology metadata.
Support interviews with equipment owners.
Support the modeling and transport of infrastructure and information systems.
Use Geospatial Information System (GIS) software in analysis efforts.
Provide input on reports.
Provide input to mid and senior staff members on briefing papers and presentations.
Provide input to proposals, articles, brochures, reports and manuals.
At least two years of telecommunications experience (IT/networking included)
Must have outstanding report writing skills
Must have strong communication abilities, good time management, computer, internet, and organizational skills.
Work confidently in a fast-paced environment with the ability to support multiple projects.
Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative to help ensure team tasks are successfully completed within timelines.
Experience with a functional programming language and theoretical understanding of distributed systems.
Attention to detail and ability to breakdown and tackle problems.
Visio and GIS skills preferred but not required
CLEARANCE: Must be eligible (Active Clearance preferred)
Location: Dahlgren, VA but some travel may occur.
Travel: CONUS & OCONUS 25%
Upon supervisor approval, telecommuting approved.
Eligible to participate in Annual Bonus Program.
