Title: GIS Lead
Location: Cypress, TX
Position Summary: Perform model analysis for oil spills and air plumes. Coordinate map creation for sub-sea and air plume modeling, emergencies, tactical plans, drill preparation, IAP material, exercises, and other industry specific maps in and out of the office. Potential to attend agency or client-driven meetings to generate GIS data. Support GIS Specialists in carrying out all essential GIS duties and responsibilities. Maintenance and support of the Common Operating Picture as required.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide support to other TRG Departments as directed.
Participate as a response member for immediate emergency response deployment as needed.
Be available for planned and unplanned exercises as directed.
You have a responsibility to respond/answer all TRG & Client communications.
Develop proficiency in the IAP Software and a basic understanding of spill trajectory modeling and GIS mapping/COP.
Develop and ensure accurate and professional deliverables for clients.
Basic understanding of TRG products and services.
Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Create a variety of map products on a daily basis.
Produce oil spill trajectories and air plume models for planned or unplanned events.
Member of a 24/7 GIS on-call support staff.
Contribute to internal training for GIS or Oil Spill trajectories as required.
Maintain team goals and quality control throughout project development and completion.
Contribute as requested to the practices and processes for improving the quality and efficiency of the GIS team.
QA/QC all work products.
Assist as required in planning, executing, and finalizing clients projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
Act as a consultant on behalf of TRG to assist Leader or Manager in providing solutions to clients questions and issues related to TRGs GIS Services.
Serve at the direction of the GIS Leader and perform additional duties as required.
Experience with emergency response/ crisis management.
Intermediate knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS desktop suite.
Basic knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS Web Suite preferred. Basic knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE preferred.
Experience and familiarity with field data collection methods preferred.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Industry specific knowledge in disaster or emergency response a plus.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in GIS or other technically related field required.
Minimum of 3 years related experience required.
GIS Certificate preferred.
Minimum of 2 years GIS experience working with related industry preferred.
Oceanographic/ geographic knowledge, high level computer education a plus.
