ABOUT THE POSITION
A GIS Analyst provides a full range of GIS services and GIS support to the forestry and environmental services groups at MB&G as well as to external clients. This position requires GIS knowledge, geospatial analysis, cartographic design and map production. Work will be performed at our Portland, Oregon headquarters office with potential occasional travel as projects require. Work is part-time, hourly with the potential to turn into full-time.

The GIS Analyst will perform the following tasks:

• GIS Project Support
o Construct and maintain GIS databases.
o Utilize standard operations and scripted processes to manipulate and analyze geospatial data to support multi-resource analysis in support of planning.
o Develop data for, publish and work within the ArcGIS Online environment.
o Provide technical support to projects managed by others.
o Contribute to technical reports as required, e.g., technical approach, methods, data analysis
o Understand and utilize metadata to document as well as determine appropriate use of data.
o Responsible for accurate and timely deliverables and documentation for all projects.
o Responsible for client satisfaction and delivery of high-quality GIS products.

• Cartographic and Map Design/Production
o Uses GIS software and cartographic tools to edit and prepare presentations, maps, and graphic products.
o Uses and understands project map templates

ABOUT YOU
In order to excel as a GIS Analyst, you should possess the following skills, experience, and background:
• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources related field. Master’s degree a plus.
• Work-related experience pertaining to natural resource management a plus
• Proficient with Esri’s ArcGIS software
• Knowledge and ability to work within the ArcGIS online environment
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of GIS concepts and principles.
• Basic to intermediate GIS analysis modeling and database skills.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of GIS data formats.
• Experience using Python or other development tools a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Enthusiastic and team-oriented individual.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
• Client service oriented.
