Title: Geospatial Quality Assurance Coordinator
Location: Athens, AL
Primary Function: Optimal GEO is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator that will be responsible for creating and updating company quality assurance plans and management systems, working with our management team handling deviations in real time, and ensuring each sector of the business is compliant and has proper training. This position will support our team as an overarching quality coordinator serving multiple government agencies, for a variety of geospatial services and their derivative products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze existing quality assurance plans and develop as needed across the business.
Lead and prepare Optimal GEO for ISO 9001 certification.
Create and implement companywide quality management training.
Develop internal audit and training schedules.
Perform internal audits.
Handle internal deviations from the quality management system.
Ensure deviations are addressed within a predetermined timeframe.
Represent the organization regarding our quality management system.
Communicate effectively, both written and oral, with project team and management staff.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
Perform some geospatial data creation and quality control.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards.
Technical expertise in the areas of Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, GIS and/or Civil Engineering.
Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, database, word-processing, and CAD applications.
Good written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Ability to handle multiple projects with diverse quality requirements.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. GIS, Geography, or Civil Engineering degree preferred.
Experience with GIS, LiDAR, Remote Sensing or Surveying preferred.
Experience with Quality Management Systems and ISO standards.
Experience with ESRI, MicroStation, AutoCAD and related software preferred.
