Full-time position available with KC Water Engineering GIS Division.
Salary Range: $4,945-$8,659/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The GIS Senior Analyst role will have dual responsibilities in direct technical work as well as supervisory tasks and engagement with other groups in the utility. Responsible for leading the shared services and analytics group of Kansas City Water’s GIS and records department. Working with the GIS manager the Senior Analyst will formulate policy for GIS standards and practices as well as develop technology for recording and presenting Water’s spatial asset information. Performs direct technical work as well as supervises GIS Analysis services group to deliver custom analysis, software implementation, data integrity and custom applications and technology. The Senior Analyst will help improve GIS group productivity through the development of efficiency improvement programs, software, and training. Develops standards for GIS data capture, work process mapping, serves data and develops technology based on current GIS and Asset Management best practices. Leads efforts to improve communication and automation between asset management and CMMS software and GIS through software and scripting. Will produce reporting and analytics of both tabular and spatial data for consumption by leadership teams.

REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree, supplemented by the completion of a Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance or a related field and 3 years of professional experience of a progressively responsible nature in public or business administration, corporate or municipal finance, budget, research, accounting or a related field, including 2 years of experience at the Analyst level OR accredited Bachelor's degree with major course work in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance or a related field and 5 years of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate or municipal finance, budget, research, accounting or a related field, including 2 years of experience at the Analyst level. Preference given to candidates 2 years supervisory or project management experience, experience in programming and developing GIS applications, 3 Years’ experience in public or private utilities or government, and 8 years’ experience implementing GIS solutions
