Position Description:

The City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities Department is accepting applications for Geographic Information System (GIS) Administrator Major Responsibilities: plan, direct and participates in the acquisition, installation, administration and operation of City Public Works geographic information system (GIS); coordinate, train, and instruct staff in the operation of Public Works GIS; performs GIS data capturing, data conversion and data entry work using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software; maintains integrity of data base using quality control procedures; designs and produces GIS maps for City website; inputs information into GIS from as-built plans and information from field personnel; designs, creates, updates GIS database and layers using hard copy maps, digital data conversion; survey and GPS; generates a variety of specific, presentation quality maps for meetings and reports; produces system atlas maps; coordinate GIS with other city staff, public and private agencies as needed; serves as project lead for Public Works GIS; troubleshoots GIS network and application problems Minimum Qualifications: Bachelorís degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or similar field of study with emphasis on GIS; minimum of two years of experience with Enterprise GIS technology; experience with ESRI ArcGIS software; asset management; Microsoft Share Point sites; certified Geographic Information System professional (GISP) preferred; light field work; working hours may include evenings Annual Starting Salary $55,650.00 with benefits Applications with be accepted until June 29, 2018 The City of Aiken is drug free workplace and an Equal Opportunity Employer
