Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Southfield, MI USA
The GIS Analyst is responsible for the creation of maps and data sets that will be delivered to clients, both internal and external. In addition to simple visualization, the analyst will perform high level GIS analysis that will be used in reports. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.
Responsible for GIS Oil and Gas data processing and SEED file loading
Responsible for GIS as-built data delivery into client GIS systems
Effectively document application systems phases through analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
Maintain and build databases to provide final products to clients.
Drive projects and workload independently; seek direction at critical moments, stay on deadlines and keep team updated on progress.
Support the project teams by providing assistance in map creation and analysis techniques.
Bachelor’s Degree with focus in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
Three (3) plus year of professional experience with Arc GIS 10.
Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
Experience with BlueSky CAD.
Moderate understanding of Microsoft Access.
Some knowledge of GPS hardware and software is preferred.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
Has relatively little authority to act independently, but has considerable responsibility to regularly interact with the rest of the GIS team.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, fax machines, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
The person in this position frequently communicates with other office staff.
