Renewable Water Resources, a special purpose district created for the protection of public health and water resources, is seeking a successful candidate for the following position.
The successful candidate for this position requires a degree in geographic information systems, geography, or closely related field; must possess a valid South Carolina state driverís license; able to obtain GISP certification within 3 years; minimum of two (2) years of experience with ArcGIS; Cityworks experience beneficial. The selected candidate will create and modify ReWa GIS data; review GIS data and maps for accuracy and completeness; perform necessary revisions to GIS data; extract and compile various data from the GIS databases; develop and modify procedures for GIS data creation, editing, and data sharing; maintain physical and digital record drawings; develop and modify procedures for the handling and storage of record drawings; and the process of creating, receiving, and organization of digital record drawings; train and assist end users with GIS application implementation; resolve user problems with GIS related hardware and software issues; contact software vendors to resolve technical problems as necessary; build, maintain, modify, and support ESRI ArcMap Web Map application; provide support in data linking efforts between GIS data and other software programs, including CityWorks; analyze and determine GIS hardware/software requirements for end users; provide support in the planning, budgeting and implementation of new hardware/software needs related to GIS mapping; attend and represent ReWa at GIS alliance and GIS support group meetings; coordinate with sewer subdistricts, municipalities, and other agencies on GIS development, standards, and data sharing; extract and provide ReWa GIS data to other agencies and ReWa consultants; create and plot maps for use by Engineering and other ReWa departments; conduct research of official records concerning property, and utility easements/rights-of-way; perform analysis of GIS data and provide reports to Engineering and other ReWa departments; coordinate with IT Director on GIS licensing and software updates; assist with the management of consultants on GIS related projects; perform other general administrative/clerical work as needed, including preparation of reports and records, completion of forms, entering and retrieval of computer data, copying and filing of documents, answering telephone, etc.; attend conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills and perform other related duties as required.
