LANDS & SURVEY DEPARTMENT
SALARY: CI $44,268- $59,544 PER ANNUM

The GIS Development Assistant is responsible for the development and support of geo enabled websites and web applications inside and outside of Government.

Applications are invited from candidates with a strong GIS skill set and a proven track record of successful project work in the government or private sector. Central to the role is the ability to work in a team oriented environment, helping to develop new services for our customers. Additionally, the post-holder will act as the primary point of contact and take the lead in providing support to the hundreds of users that we currently have a contractual relationship with.

Additionally, tasks will include the responsibility for website maintenance, taking a proactive role in the support of all desktop systems, peripherals and supplies, liaising with the Computer Services Department as necessary, and mentoring junior staff members to increase their skill set and job performance.

Proven knowledge and experience in many of the following areas of specialization is desirable: GIS based Web Development (ASP.NET (C#), PHP, Silverlight, JavaScript, HTML) using an Agile methodology such as Scrum, REST, Python, ArcGIS 10 and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise10, ArcGIS Enterprise Database, SQL and proficiency in MS Office products.

Candidates should possess a degree in GIS, Digital Cartography, Geography or Computer Science (BSc preferred) and 3 years relevant industry experience, preferably in a Land Records GIS environment. A comprehensive level of proficiency in the ESRI suite of GIS software - ArcGIS (specifically in relation to data and database manipulation for mapping purposes) and knowledge and practical skills in the use of Microsoft’s Office suite of products is essential.

Benefits will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Management Law (2018) and Regulations (2017), the Public Service Pensions Law (2017 Revision) and the CINICO Health Plan, which includes non-contributory pension and health benefits.

The contract period is 2 years, renewable pending satisfactory performance review.
