Summary and Purpose
Our organization is seeking a highly qualified GIS Analyst to work on our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania team. Reporting to the Supervisor of GIS, the primary purpose of the Analyst is to gather, maintain, and analyze spatial information to provide capital project and operational support utilizing Geographic Information Systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain pipeline and associated data in an enterprise GIS database.
Create and maintain spatial data and attributes.
Load, reference, project, and prepare data from outside providers.
Manage pipeline and facility project changes in GIS. Prepare project authorization, land acquisition, design, and construction deliverables.
Design and build GIS database schemas for local area needs, setup and maintain databases and connections.
Communicate with stakeholders. Coordinate resources and deliverables for all groups involved in engineering, construction, and operations.
Interpret user needs and deliver useful GIS products.
Follow known project management methodologies in the execution of projects.
Prepare, load, and maintain metadata for GIS data.
Travel to field offices in PA, WV, OH as needed
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient in the use of ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 or higher
1- 3 years experience utilizing GIS
Ability to demonstrate an understanding of industry specific pipeline data and data management tools
Previous experience with map making and data analysis
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing to other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business
Bachelors Degree in GIS or related field (Geography, Design, or Drafting Technology) preferred
Map Making and Data Analysis within the oil and gas pipeline experience preferred
Experience with major transmission and/or FERC pipeline projects preferred
Land, environmental, or permitting background is preferred
