Perennial Environmental Services (Perennial) is actively seeking a highly motivated person to fill a GIS Technician/Analyst position in their Houston, Texas office. Perennial is a rapidly growing environmental consulting firm that provides ecological and cultural resource services to a variety of clients throughout the country, primarily to the oil and gas industry. Perennial is headquartered in Houston and maintains satellite offices in Austin, TX and Pennsylvania to support our clients.

The individual should have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask on a variety of concurrent projects, as well as experience using ArcGIS for data compilation, standardization, and data management. Additionally, experience with geographic data mapping, spatial analysis, and cartographic product creation is required.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelorís or Masterís level education in one or more of the following disciplines: geography, GIS, environmental sciences, information technology, or other related disciplines. The candidate must also possess excellent written and oral skills, be highly organized, self motivated and detail oriented.

Key Qualifications
Bachelorís degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, IS/IT, or related field

Minimum 2 years of work within the ESRI products suite, and other GIS software such as QGIS and Google Earth.

Be able to develop and maintain spatial databases, including MS Access and File Geodatabases (GDB),

Work with the Trimble products, including handheld GPS units, Terraflex, and Pathfinder Office

Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Excel.

Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus

Familiarity with programming languages such as Python is a plus

Excellent knowledge of statistical software & data visualization software such as R is a plus

Ability to work extended hours as needed to complete project deliverables

Hands on GIS experience in the oil/gas industry

Ability to handle fast paced work environment on a variety of projects

Must be motivated, detail oriented, and a team player
