Position Description:

Woolpert, Inc., a leading design, engineering and geospatial firm, seeks a GIS Database Specialist (Level 4) with Air Force GeoBase experience(preferred) to work onsite at Langley AFB, VA. GIS Database Analyst will assist the GeoBase Enterprise GIS DBA with managing an enterprise database providing mapping data for GIS applications serving Air Force installations around the world.

Responsibilities:
•Preferred experience with Geospatial data and/or ESRI applications
•Experience in Oracle database administration.
•Familiar with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, RMAN backup and recovery planning, Data Pump, bulk data loading and cleanup
•Assist with implementing, administering and maintaining policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of DoD Oracle databases
•Implement and maintain geospatial data models, database designs, data access
•Assist with the installation of Oracle software service packs and cumulative updates as necessary
•Assist in resolving database performance and capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
•Experience working with Oracle in Windows server environments.
•Demonstrates understanding of object-oriented and design (OOAD) concepts.
•Is a competent user of at least one current enterprise-level data standard, such as SDSFIE
•Documents all code/designs according to department standards.
•Stores files, versions, and libraries according to department standards.
•Competently searches online help and developer samples for system database design ideas, trouble shooting, and solutions.
•Maintains discipline/industry awareness.
•Demonstrated technical writing abilities
•Ability to work independently once direction is provided
•Ability to monitor progress and be involved in multiple concurrent initiatives
•Will need to interact with government Geographic Information Officers and staff.
•Must have a bachelor’s degree with four years’ related programming and design experience in an enterprise database environment or six years’ related programming and design experience in an enterprise database environment
•Must have and maintain a Security+ certification
•Other duties as assigned
