Our client is looking for a GIS Technician with varied experience who will support map data editing and quality control, and validate existing data (including spatial data) while adhering to team policies and guidelines. The ideal candidate is meticulous, analytical, able to exercise objective judgement, as well as work quickly and efficiently. In addition to editing and analyzing data, the successful candidate will be able to drive global data quality improvements through cross-team collaboration.

Preferred Key Qualifications
-Education BA/BS in Geography or relevant field.
-2+ years experience of relevant industry experience preferred.
-Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, iD and JOSM.
-Ability to inspect, process and edit data.
-Experience with remote sensing and analyzing aerial imagery.
-Experience with OpenStreetMap.
-Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
-Proven leadership capabilities.
-Strong analytical skills and intuition, capable of making decisions based on analysis and experience.
-Strong competence in data analysis and data mining.
-Demonstrated experience scripting solutions for repetitive tasks (using tools such as Python, Bash)
-Able to work both in a team or independently when required, taking pride in data integrity and accuracy in analysis.
-Self-driven with the ability to manage analysis projects across diverse team skill sets
-Attention to detail, data accuracy and quality of output.
-Communication of detailed analysis to a high-level audience for decision-making purposes.
-Support creation of and review technical specifications.
-Fluency in the following spoken languages preferred but not required. (Farsi, Arabic, Khmer, Danish, and Cyrillic based languages)
