Job Responsibilities –
As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by:
-Working with senior staff supporting NEPA Planning efforts for projects in South Carolina as well as other offices of CDM Smith across the Southeastern United States.
-Leading environmental tasks, assisting in the writing and development of NEPA documents.
-Performing project research.
-Communicating, on a personal level, with project staff, clients, and resource agencies.
-Reviews transportation plans for compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws. Escalates any legal compliance issues as necessary.
-Collaborates with engineers to research, analyze or resolve complex transportation conceptual/schematic design issues.
-Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
-Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
Job Requirements –
-Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Geography, GIS or other scientific discipline. Or Bachelor's degree in Regional, Community, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering. Or Bachelors degree in Political Science.
-5 years of related experience.
-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
