Title: GIS Solutions Developer

Arora Engineers, Inc., a growing, dynamic engineering company, is seeking a professional GIS Solutions Developer to write code and automate redundant GIS processes. The successful candidate will have technical knowledge of GIS functionality to deliver end-to-end solutions through a modified agile workflow. This position will require a candidate that is an independent thinker, self-motivated, and able to manage their time with limited supervision.
This position will be a full-time position with the candidate reporting to management in our Charlotte, NC office.
Overall Responsibility: Responsible for design, development, and implementation of Enterprise GIS applications to support desktop, mobile, and cloud-based ArcGIS Enterprise deployments. Technologies span the entire ArcGIS Enterprise stack including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE employing Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure IaaS.
•Involved in the development of functional and non-functional application design requirements
•Configuration of Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS Online, and Portal
•Development and publishing of feature, map, and tile cache services to support web and mobile applications
•Develops and manages scripts for data analysis and systems integration
•Provide support, troubleshooting, modifications, enhancements, and maintenance for existing GIS applications, scripts, tools, and web services
•Create and maintain system related documentation
•Experience creating MS Active Directory synchronization or federation for application access
•Stay abreast of technology trends and industry best practices to hone and maintain skills
•Support the development of solution architectural designs which leverage AWS or Microsoft Azure as well as on-premise Esri ArcGIS Enterprise software
•Create strategies for developing unique and distinct win themes to address business challenges and opportunities
•Provide knowledge transfer to educate colleagues in support of project objectives
•Perform related work as required
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in geography, urban planning, geographic information systems, or related field.
2-5 years or more experience in designing, developing, and deploying GIS based web and/or mobile applications in support of public sector agencies OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Promotes positive and constructive communication with team members and clients related to requested application functionality
•Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and perform research to develop innovative solutions
•Proven ability to design, publish, and leverage existing web services
•Fluency in Esri stack including ArcGIS Pro
•Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
•Experience customizing web maps and applications using ArcGIS Online for Organizations and/or Portal for ArcGIS
•Able to use tools such as JIRA, Github, etc. preferred
•Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people with a variety of skills, experience, and personalities
•Experience developing custom scripts for GIS data management and analysis
•Experience managing spatial data concepts, projections systems, geo-databases, topology, and relational databases
•Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences both orally and in writing
•GISP certification or the desire to earn GISP certification is a plus
•Possesses appropriate paperwork to demonstrate legal right to work in United States as a full-time, regular employee
