Title: IT Systems Specialist
Location: Athens, AL
The System Technician is responsible for the computer operations of the company, which includes operations and maintenance. Duties include set up, configure, and support internal and/or external computers and networks. Position requires a very “hands-on” approach.
Responsible for network administration, operation of servers, and peripheral information system equipment.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of all IT systems, infrastructure, processes and procedures.
Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
Ensure minimal down time
Troubleshoots network performance issues (hardware and software)
Creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan for IT.
Provides technical support and guidance to users.
Maintains current software licenses
Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, and standards
Provide strategic planning, development, implementation, security and evaluation for all hardware, and software requirements encompassing all data systems.
Oversee the requirements, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of all information systems.
Responsible for quality, cost-effective use of resources
Maintain infrastructure security and data integrity
Interface and build relationships with suppliers
Responsible for timeliness of project implementation against established targets.
Oversee provision of end-user services, technical support services.
Research and recommend innovative cost savings, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources.
Perform daily system monitoring and verification of system integrity.
Performs daily backup operations and ensure that all required file systems and data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and stored off-site.
Repair and record hardware or software failures.
Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Perform performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Perform on-going performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as requires.
Network operating at maximum capacity
Provide any necessary documentation and technical support to end users to ensure efficiency.
Maintenance of networking system and all related activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field.
Must be able to trouble shoot and identify equipment problems
Must be able to effectively operate computers and provide superior support to internal clients.
Minimum 5 years experience.
Good knowledge of TCP-IP and routing.
Windows (7, 10, Server 12, 16)
Able to diagnose PC hardware/software problems

ANY OTHER BONAFIDE JOB REQUIREMENTS (i.e. Physical Abilities):
Vision: Binocular 20/20; may be correctable with either glasses or contacts lenses, requires color vision, and depth perception. Must be able to determine gray scale.
Arms/Hands/Fingers: Full range of motion of hands, arms, fingers, and thumbs and positive hand/eye coordination.
Sitting: Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, approximately two hours straight
Communication: Must be able to hear and communicate verbally
Lifting: Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds
Other: Must have ability to balance, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, stoop, and walk
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Mapping software product knowledge
Proactively understand IT needs of the organization to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective and innovative technology solutions throughout the organization
Must be able to operate and service a computer and company software
Must be able to lift and move equipment during repair and installation
Prolonged sitting at work area
Weekend and evening work may be required
Travel, as needed
