Nearmap is currently providing a virtual model of the real world – at a scale and detail that hasn’t been done before. At Nearmap, we have an appetite for high performing individuals, and we are currently on the hunt for a Geospatial Sales Engineer. The US Pre-sales team is responsible for technical discovery and solution design for complex sales opportunities, for which it is critical to advise on the best way for customers to access Nearmap content and derive value from it. A typical day for a Sales Engineer is a mix of deep-dive technical demos of GIS tools that use Nearmap imagery, helping with technical customer questions, responding to requests, attending on-site customer meetings in the US, sometimes presenting or demonstrating at a trade show, and writing/recording technical demo material on new technologies and integrations. Geographical Sales Engineers are also responsible for providing GIS analysis for customers and internal purposes as well as creating maps to support Sales. For this particular position, we are also looking for web development skills that can assist our growing partner and integrator network that access Nearmap imagery and data through APIs. Ideally we would like someone with Python and JavaScript experience. A typical day for you may look like this… *Become a trusted advisor by utilizing your technical expertise and understanding of Nearmap solutions to actively engage in strategy and client messaging *Partner with US prospects and customers to understand their business constraints and requirements, and recommend the best product solution *Understand content delivery requirements, and advise on the best delivery method for customers to get the most value from Nearmap content and products *Builds relationship with key customer stakeholders serving as a technical liaison from pre-sales to post-sales *Partner with the US sales team and provide technical cross-functional training and support, customer demos and presentations *Creating technical demonstrations and documents for presentation to the customer describing the benefits of proposed solution *Help with advising and troubleshooting partner and customer use of APIs for application development. Advise them on the best API to choose, the optimal method to retrieve information and diagnose problems. *Help the customer choose the best product to use to meet their requirements. This could be ortho imagery, obliques, or 3D products. The Pre-Sales team also needs to have a deep understanding of when and where to use these products. *Assist the Sales Team with pricing and packaging of unique deals *Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams, as required, communicating customer and prospect feedback *As necessary, assist sales and marketing with the development of technical content for webinars and trade shows *Work closely with the Product and Engineering team to help develop new products and delivery methods *Partner with Survey Operations regularly to process offline orders and optimize our coverage plan to meet customer needs More about what you need to bring… *3+ years’ experience in a customer facing sales engineer or support role *Relevant education, a degree in a field such as GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or Engineering *Working knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D mapping content *Web development and programming experience – specifically API access, Javascript, JSON, image retrieval and processing, conversion of coordinates *GIS/Geo-Spatial/Imagery experience *Understanding of the principles of Photogrammetry *Gift of making a completing sales argument to sell value *Strong time management and organization skills *Confidence in public speaking and presenting to customers *An entrepreneurial spirit *Creative and critical thinking skills to unlock the full potential of how Nearmap's product stack can be used to solve complex issues Apply at: https://nearmap.bamboohr.com/jobs/view.php?id=249&source=GJC
