Position Description:

General Duties:
The MetroGIS Coordinator coordinates and manages a wide range of functions and activities for MetroGIS, which is a Met Council sponsored regional collaborative that represents city, county, regional and state governments as well as education, business, utility and nonprofit sectors. MetroGIS exists to expand stakeholders' capacity to address shared GIS needs and to maximize investments through the collaboration of organizations serving the Twin Cities metro area. The goal of MetroGIS is for organizations to be successfully working together using GIS to solve real-world problems. This position will be responsible for facilitating and managing the ongoing processes to define and act upon shared visions and strategic objectives to achieve the goals of MetroGIS.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, geography, GIS or other related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of full-time (or equivalent) professional experience including staffing and/or leading public decision-making bodies; applying GIS to support government operations; and managing projects. OR Master's degree and three (3) years of experience.
