Title: GIS Analyst- II
Location: Hot Springs, AR

We are a fast-moving team that manages the enterprise-level GIS platform, applications, data, and services for Weyerhaeuser. GIS is critical to the daily operations on Weyerhaeuser’s 12 million acres of timberlands. We are currently moving our GIS environment to the cloud and transforming access to the company’s GIS assets using web and mobile solutions.
In this role, you will work with other members of the GIS Services and IT team to manage our enterprise ESRI/ArcGIS based spatial data assets and tools. You will collaborate with business customers throughout Weyerhaeuser Timberlands and Recreation Lease to deliver GIS data management, analytic, and cartographic services. You will seek out and contribute tactical ideas to help improve existing processes.
NOTE: Position can been based in Hot Springs, AR or Madison, GA.
•Steward of spatial data for the Timberlands, Real Estate, and Recreation Lease business groups
•Procure and provision various sources of raster data including, but not limited to, aerial photography, satellite imagery, LiDAR, and drone/UAV-collected data
•Perform a variety of GIS tasks related to automation and scheduled tasks using Python and SQL Server
•Support Weyerhaeuser’s WebGIS environment in ArcGIS Enterprise through the creation and maintenance of web maps and web apps
•Participate in various IT and GIS committees
•Collaborate with other IT teams to advance Weyerhaeuser’s Connected Forest vision, including incorporating GIS technology and integration into the Forest Management, Wood Flow Planning, Transportation, and Contract/Settlement systems
•Associate degree in Geography, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience is required
•Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of progressive, relevant GIS/IT experience
•Able to use knowledge of the Weyerhaeuser business processes to help make appropriate decisions
•Possess high attention to detail, ensuring that data quality and information is consistently maintained
•Strong oral and written communication skills, proficient in communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences
•Excellent collaboration skills while working together with all members of the team; actively developing connections across multiple IT and GIS segments
•Eager to share ideas and issues with teammates and manager and encourages others to share their ideas
•Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision
•This position requires occasional travel up to 10%.
•Possess mid-level GIS technical knowledge and skills, including geodatabase design, spatial relationships, scripting, and cartography
•Proficient with the ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, Enterprise/Portal, and ArcGIS Online
•Proficient in creating raster derivative products and services
•Ability to troubleshoot imagery and web service issues within an enterprise environment
•Hands-on experience with GIS data, GIS data processing, and scripting
•Ability to write T-SQL statements to query and analyze data
•Familiar with forestry and land title concepts and datasets
•Significant experience with ESRI enterprise geodatabases, especially SQL Server, and experience with versioning, SQL spatial data type, and SQL spatial methods
•Familiar with writing T-SQL statements to query and analyze data
•Experience working with raster data in the cloud
•Familiar with ArcGIS Image Server and best practices for managing raster data
•Experience managing small to medium projects
•Working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM principles and practices
