Orange County is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a motivated, high energy, self-starter to serve in the role of GIS Analyst. Under general direction, this is a professional technical position responsible for the design and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, mapping, quality assurance, analysis and application projects based on enterprise and customer specified requirements.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a GIS Supervisor. The position often serves as the technical team lead on GIS projects.
Leads Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects under general direction.
Performs GIS analysis and mapping as assigned.
Develops and analyzes business requirements and designs, develops and tests new GIS data, processes and applications.
Analyses, troubleshoots, and improves existing GIS data, processes, and applications.
Designs and implements quality assurance processes.
Provides GIS support services to County management and staff.
Supports and mentors other GIS staff.
May represent business units on the Orange County GIS Technical Committee.
Interacts regularly with other County agencies, local governments, and the private sector.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelorís degree from an accredited institution.
Four years of progressive experience demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the use and application of GIS data and technologies. A Masterís Degree or higher level degree from an accredited institution may substitute for two year of experience
Experience with ESRI's line of products including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE and ArcGIS Online.
Experience with spatial data management, spatial analysis technologies, process design and modeling, server and web GIS technologies.
Experience with applying GIS technologies to help understand and resolve business process issues.
