RedCastle Resources is an innovative, employee‐friendly company providing Remote Sensing, GIS, and Information Technology support to the US Forest Service and other land management agencies. For over 22 years, RedCastle Resources has provided on-site support to the U.S. Forest Service, Geospatial Technology and Applications Center (GTAC) assisting National Forests, GTAC, Research Stations, and interagency partners by using advanced geospatial technologies for improved mapping, inventorying, and monitoring of natural resources.

Position Description:
The GIS Graphic Design Specialist is an on‐site RedCastle Resources contractor position within the Forest Service GTAC Geospatial Support Group. The group is a small unit, thus, the selected candidate will be involved in all aspects of working with geospatial staff and resources specialists throughout the Agency who use geospatial technology to portray information related to land and resource management such as forestry, wildlife management, wilderness, and recreation.

The largest portion of the work is focused on the creation of web based interactive maps and other interactive data visualizations. Creation of communication materials including posters, presentations, animations, web content interactive graphics are also required.

The successful candidate or candidates will:

- Be responsible for all aspects of web design, including project storyboards, interface design, web graphics creation/optimization, and web usability.

- Have a strong background (at least two years’ experience) in GIS with extensive knowledge of current ESRI products including ArcGIS, ArcServer, ArcSDE, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, and enterprise data services.

Be a good self‐learner and will be expected to contribute to efforts beyond his/her current technical competencies.

Education Requirement:
In addition to the two years of GIS experience described above, we require a minimum of a BA/BS degree‐‐preferably in a geospatial science, graphic design, or technical area with emphasis in GIS.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position offers a benefits package which includes health coverage, company contribution 401K and profit sharing, long term disability insurance, and paid vacation, sick leave and holidays. A moving allowance may be provided.
