geocgi is looking for a GIS Solution Engineer to be a technical hands-on consultant responsible for designing and delivering geospatial solutions for our clients. This position uses GIS skills to assist in developing advanced geospatial systems and support our clients with innovative and technically sound solutions. The GIS Solution Engineer is responsible for converting business management processes and needs into tools and products by creating and deploying solutions in a variety of environments including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, web servers and desktop applications. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a GIS Solution Engineer supporting our customers, which include:
• Design, develop, and implement enterprise GIS solutions
• Apply enterprise design methodology and best practices to transform business requirements into products and solutions
• Conduct reviews, assessments, and document design recommendations in reports, presentations, and white papers
• Create tools for publishing content in ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
• Enable IT systems including cloud, web services, RDBMS, networking, and storage technologies to integrate with geospatial solutions
• Automate to improve data access and management procedures
• Communicate standards, methods, quality assurance/control processes, and metrics

The following are requirements of the potential candidate:
• Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field
• 3+ years’ experience in designing and creating solutions utilizing the ArcGIS Platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Online.
• Experience with installing and configuring a base deployment of ArcGIS Enterprise
• Experience designing and publishing web GIS service endpoints to ArcGIS Server or ArcGIS Online for data visualization and consumption
• Experience creating a tool or product in one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, JavaScript (and HTML/CSS), C#, Java
• US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Clearance

The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:
• Certifications (GISP, Security+, Esri, Microsoft, PMP)
• Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context (e.g., hardware, software, storage, security, networking, servers, databases, web services, virtualization, cloud computing)
• Experience creating enterprise geodatabases to power ArcGIS web maps and applications
• Experience creating tools and scripts to automate processes, transform or normalize data, and/or conduct complex spatial analyses
• Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs
• Experience in Information Assurance
• Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
• Ability to listen to clients and convert business needs into geospatial tools and processes
• Excellent written and communication skills
