The Director of Operations will manage a team of 8 staff to ensure sustainable EVG performance and organizational development of EVG Operations department to source, analyze and produce geospatial data.
Define, implement and revise operational policies and guidelines for East View Geospatial
Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and reports by which EVG’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identify opportunities for improvement.
Plan, direct, monitor, and forecast budgets and cost of sales in each sub-unit to achieve financial objectives
Manage GeoData staff; and procurement/public relation liaison with field agents.
Manage platforms and how they inform the operations business’ success:
-internal ERP for orders, fulfillment, POs
-metadata tool for creating library-quality records
Review “Approval Plans” (including research and pricing) for major academic, public or federal libraries to ensure proper pricing, execution, and orders fulfillment
Assist CEO to fulfill business development initiatives and opportunities; and ensure highest level of satisfaction of EVG customers and partners
Develop and deepen procurement & publisher relationships; and rights and permissions
Draft and execute necessary contracts and agreements (rights, permissions, royalties)
Intercompany cooperation across orgs to promote inter-company products and services
Bachelor’s degree in business, GIS, or work equivalent
5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in GIS
Must have thorough understanding of business and finance practices, theories, and policies involved in running an Operations unit
Experience in GIS, maps, publishing helpful but not required
Leadership: Must have proven ability to manage timelines and budgets; possess excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; possess superior verbal and written communication, as well as diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
This is an onsite position located in Minneapolis, Minnesota
This role will require 10% domestic and international travel
