Position Description:

The GPS Manager will work in conjunction with the Site Manager and Site Engineer to provide technical support at assigned facilities.

Responsibilities and Duties
●GPS and Robotic Total Station instrument operation, software programming, hardware management, and maintenance.
●Provide instrument and software training to ensure that equipment is being utilized accurately and to its fullest potential.
●Provide and maintain hardware and software installations and setup for new facilities.
●Prepare calculations in a variety of land surveying applications including, but not limited to, CADD volumes, boundary, and topographic creation.
●Manage and coordinate with 3rd-party surveyors.
●Manage and coordinate with vendors for installations and repairs of equipment.
●Stay informed with current GPS industry standards and emerging technologies.
●Perform Drone flights with RTK equipped quadcopter to provide updated surfaces and orthomosaics.
●Perform job duties in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
●Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
●Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills
●Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
●Must have an in-depth knowledge of GPS technologies and options.
●Knowledge of coordinates systems, geoids, and geodata transformations.
●Experience with Trimble Business Center, SCS900, Earthworks, Siteworks, and/or Trimble GPS equipment.
●Experience with Pix4D or similar photogrammetry software to create orthomosaics, digital surface models, and point cloud editing.
●FAA Part 107 sUAS license or ability to obtain one in a timely manner.
●Experience with machine/grade control systems is a plus.
●Presentation skills to explain and educate others, both internal and external, at all levels of the organization
●Ability to follow all department rules, procedures and instructions.
●Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
●Ability to exercise good judgment and take responsibility.
●Ability to take directions from multiple sources and prioritize accordingly.
●Ability to maintain compliance by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
●Additional skills may be required to perform task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
