Title: GIS Sales Engineer
An SSP Sales Engineer is a dynamic, independent person who can utilize Esri technology, SSP products, and SSP project implementations to deliver persuasive demonstrations that sing. This position is part of a highly motivated, self-supporting sales team that drives SSP’s growth and are key enablers of the company’s strategic goals.
This individual will report to the VP of Sales & Marketing and work closely with Account Executive and Sales Operations Manager peers, in conjunction with the Product department, to configure and perform functional demonstrations that attract prospects to SSP products.
-Collaborative and fast learning individual who can work with expertise from across the company to learn to own the demonstration performance across all SSP products.
-Confident, engaging, winning personality that can enthusiastically showcase SSP’s products by telling stories that consist of utility workflows, where the product is simply an enabler of the work.
-Technical competency, or ability to learn, to configure Esri, SSP, and other 3rd party solutions.
-Esri technology experience is necessary. Experience with relevant platforms (Pro, Enterprise, Runtime, etc). Familiar with modern architectures/concepts (Utility Network)
-Electric Transmission, Electric Distribution, Gas Distribution, or Gas/Oil Pipeline Transmission industry subject matter domain knowledge is highly valued.
-Independently motivated with the enthusiasm to knock down roadblocks and unforeseen obstacles.

-Be accountable for delivering on time, robust and performant demonstrations
-Proactively support Account Executives in work toward goal of winning sale
-Prepare demonstrations to match customer specifications/requirements through updates to workflows and stories, through configuration of SSP and Esri products, and through leadership of SSP product SMEs (when needed) in the development of demonstration-ready custom capabilities and/or integrations to third-party systems.
-Ensure product demonstrations mirror and reinforce product win themes per the strategies detailed by sales and product management
-In case of benchmark or competitive shortlist situations, lead preparation and performance of demonstration against exact scenarios of functionality that have been supplied by prospective customer.
-Project confident and enthusiastic customer-facing presence to demonstrate our solutions and handle questions regarding the how and why of our solutions. -Make the demonstration uniquely appropriate for the audience using knowledge of specific commodity industry and related workflows.
-Work with Sales Operations Manager to ensure the timely coordination of “demo cycles” that consist of the preparation, practice, iterative update, and performance of individual demonstrations to key prospective customers. Sales Ops Manager provides key assistance in people and requirement coordination.
-Record and publish standard demonstration scripts.
-Frequent yet irregular travel required.
-Support continuous improvement of demonstrations and SSP products
-Maintain log of customer requirements and SSP product’s relative capability out-of-the-box
-Maintain log of custom functionality included in demonstrations
-Maintain up-to-date understanding of SSP and Esri current capability AND roadmaps
-Work with Account Executives and sales team leadership to brainstorm and document demonstration strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats based on recent performance
-Provide regular (quarterly) feedback to Product team on areas for most valuable investment
-Maintain awareness and ownership of key solution capabilities that can drive competitive edge in demonstrations
-Incorporate new Esri Product capabilities (with help from SSP Product SMEs)
-Incorporate new SSP Product capabilities (with help from SSP Product SMEs)
-Include project specific customizations worthy of including into our demonstrations to promote our broader SSP capabilities (with technical assistance from SSP Product SMEs)
-Ensure cohesive demonstration datasets (with help from SSP Product SMEs)
-Ensure consistent readiness of sales engineering demonstration environments through consistent testing and communication with Product team
-Includes key preparation for industry conferences.
-Rapid response when unexpected issues are found the day before or day of critical demonstrations.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
-Minimum 3 years professional experience or equivalent
