St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a GIS Analyst for our well established Utility Department whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. The St. Johns County Utility Department provides water, sewer and reuse utility services for approximately 52,000 accounts. Employees work in a team oriented environment within functional divisions for Engineering, Operations and Administration with two common goals in mind: to provide the best services to our citizens and to be the best public utility in North Florida.
This Utility GIS Division supports these goals, by managing several systems including Desktop and Portal GIS (ArcGIS), the Asset Management System (Cityworks), and the Water Management System (WIMS), along with databases, geodatabase, reporting, dashboards, custom applications, and location tools including GPS and UAS/Drone. The Utility GIS Division is at the forefront of these technologies and continues to strive towards advanced, intuitive applications that empower Utility staff to collaborate and work efficiently within a mobile setting. We use technology for innovative solutions, earning Esri’s Special Achievement in GIS award, and Cityworks’ Exemplary User award. We continue to build on this success and set the pace for GIS and Information Systems for efficient and effective utility services and management.
The newly selected Utility GIS Analyst joins a team of three other GIS professionals and supporting professional services, that maintain, configure and develop these applications, and includes providing support and improvements for 185 Utility staff. They also maintain, edit, and develop the Utility geodatabases of over 130 layers, and SQL databases, and provide reporting and dashboards of these records. The GIS Division applies innovative solutions and technology, including the latest GPS, UAS/Drone imagery, and networked sensors. The information is provided to Utility staff daily in a wide range of advanced, beneficial, enabling applications including office apps, mobile apps, dashboards and analytics.
