POSITION TITLE: GIS Associate, Product Development
POSITION SUMMARY: Galehead is seeking a Geographic Information Systems Specialist to join our growing team. This role will include being a strategic team member of the Product Development Team by providing support related to geospatial data management, general mapping and deliverable production/creation,and analyses to support ongoing business operations and project origination campaigns. Additionally, this candidate will become a subject matter expert on the LandCommandô tool and provide ongoing support, maintenance and management, and identification and/or introduction of new capabilities. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Product Development.
Support impact infrastructure project development through best practices in geospatial data management, analysis and cartography.
Utilize GIS and organizational best practices to develop and maintain geospatial data.
Conduct land, regulatory, and related project searches.
Implement geospatial data transformations and geospatial functions in development of data derivatives.
Create maps and reports to support project development and marketing efforts.
Use open source geospatial tools for data acquisition, analysis and map creation.
Train and support casual GIS users with data related tasks.
Lead and/or support documentation development for LandCommandô data, tools and processes.
Support and/or lead special projects from each area of the business, as needed, resulting in actionable opportunities that bring value and/or improve project success rates.

Actively participate in business growth and strategy sessions.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelorís degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Sciences, or Computer Science, Environmental Sciences.
3+ years of experience in data analysis and mapping.
Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
Python and SQL scripting.
Experienced in QGIS/ArcGIS.
A basic knowledge of GDAL, as well as python geospatial libraries.
Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Ability to organize workloads and meet deadlines.
A strong understanding of land records (including parcels, lots, and easements) and legal descriptions including metes and bounds and Public Land Survey System (PLSS).
Experience in web map application development a plus.
