Role: Utilities Geospatial Solutions Engineer

Role Summary: The Utilities Geospatial Solutions Engineer provides support directed at the implementation, maintenance, and advancement of the ArcGIS Utility Network technology for water utility clients (water, wastewater, and stormwater domains). The role is responsible for assessments and recommendations, application deployment, system administration and configuration, documentation, end user support and training, data analysis, data modeling, web service creation, application testing and troubleshooting.  

Existing Water Utility Experience (Water Distribution, Wastewater, Stormwater) Preferred

Essential Functions:

-High proficiency with installation, configuration, and administration of ArcGIS Enterprise components (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Utility Network)
-Ability to lead needs assessments/requirements meetings and identify/document solutions leveraging the enterprise GIS, especially for water, wastewater, and stormwater
-Understanding of data migration concepts and experience with ETL (extract, transform, and load) practices using SSP Sync, Esri Data Loading Tools, and Safe Software FME
-Evaluate quality and structure of existing data and develop action plans for migration to an enterprise GIS network geodatabase
-Work with customers and project team to determine requirements associated with implementation and configuration of software, tools, and technical processes
-Train users on the use and adoption of GIS technologies, including Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and the ArcGIS Utility Network

Ideal (in addition to required experience):

-3+ years GIS experience in water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utility preferred
-3+ year GIS enterprise implementation and/or project management experience
-Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Utility Network preferred

Competencies and Skills:

-Advanced knowledge of Esri software, with special emphasis on the ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Utility Network
-Effective communicator possessing strong communication, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer-centric environment

-Strong team skills and the ability to work independently
-Self-motivated to learn new technologies, industries, and business processes
-Driven problem solver and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, environment with multiple simultaneous projects


-Minimum of a bachelorís degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering, or related field*
-Two or more year of enterprise-level GIS technology experience **
-Knowledge of utility assets, especially for water, wastewater, and/or stormwater systems
-Experience creating and editing utility geodatabases, especially for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems
-Experience with data modeling and geodatabase design, especially for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems

Work Environment:

-Location is flexible: Sun Prairie, WI; St. Louis, MO; Birmingham, AL; or work from home considered
-Travel up to 25% of the time, per corporate and client travel allowances
