Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Camp Fuji, Japan
Parsons Corporation is seeking to hire a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst for a contract position with our client, based at United States Marine Corps Camp Fuji, Japan.
The position is part of a team of GIS professionals providing mapping support for military training areas for the United States Marine Corps throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. This is a full-time position.
This exciting and challenging role will allow you to apply and develop your technical experience through working with state of the art GIS technology, and develop your coordination and project management skills through liaising with customers and GIS stakeholders.
Project Tasks Include:
GIS Database Development, Map Production, GIS Data Acquisition, Field GIS Data Collection, Coordination with other geospatial data managers / data stewards and stakeholders.
Bachelors degree in geography, remote sensing, engineering, environmental science, natural resource management, and/or equivalent degree; and three (3) or more years of geographic information systems experience i
Esri ArcGIS Desktop user 3 or more years experience (version 10)
Experience with geodatabase management, editing, GIS data development and standardization, including performing quality control on attributes, metadata, topology and spatial accuracy.
Experience of field survey using handheld GPS
Capable of producing customized cartographic and analysis products using ArcGIS
Experience writing and troubleshooting automation scripts in Python for ArcGIS.
Experience working in a multiuser versioned geodatabase environment.
Experience Image Processing in ERDAS Imagine.
Experience working with the SDSFIE geodatabase model.
Experience working with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Online Applications is a plus.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Self-Motivated, independent work ethic, capable of prioritizing own work with minimal supervision.
Ability to coordinate and build relationships with customers and provide technical GIS briefings to GIS users and managers through meetings, working groups, conferences, and outreach events.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Valid & Clean Driving License
Clean Police Background Check from current place of residence.
Ability to pass a background check for access to DoD networks
Must be a US Citizen
