Associate GIS Developer: $85,467.00 annually
Minimum Qualifications (Associate GIS Developer): Graduation from a college or university with a major in GIS, civil engineering, computer science, management information systems or a related field; and at least one year of responsible experience in GIS analysis and applications design and development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., M-Th
The ideal candidate will also possess the knowledge of geospatial concepts which includes spatial relationships, projections and analysis, and geoprocessing tasks, preferably using Esri ArcGIS as well as of hosted and cloud-based ArcGIS products such as Server, Portal, and Online.
Familiarity with Model-View-Controller architecture, object-oriented programming, version control, scripting languages, API's/Micro Services, and an understanding of basic relational database concepts are desired.
INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check, and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.
Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a college or university with a major in GIS, geospatial sciences, civil engineering, computer science, management information systems or a related field; and three years of increasingly responsible experience in the development, implementation and administration of geographical information systems; and three years of progressively responsible experience in GIS analysis and applications design and development; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
