Title: GIS Analyst

Do you want to be part of a GIS team that is pushing technical limits while finding innovative solutions to projects? The Rapid City – Pennington County GIS Division is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst. The GIS Analyst will administer, develop, analyze and maintain geospatial data and applications. This individual will be responsible for providing software and technical support to staff. Experience in programming languages is a plus. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, be customer service focused, creative, flexible, team-oriented and a self-starter to identify and implement process improvements that use GIS. This is a career position, with three grade levels for in-place advancement. The hiring grade and step are dependent on qualifications, with additional compensation available for exceptionally qualified individuals.

We are a large GIS for a population of our size, with three full time employees working with multiple government entities to provide support for desktop installations of ArcGIS in addition to web and data servers. The Division is well supported, with an ESRI small government site license and ample career development opportunities.
