Now, about you…

The GIS Analyst position shall support a wide range of projects which are critical to the mission of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) GIS Department at Fort Polk. Responsibilities include the creation of custom mapping products based on client data specifications, maintaining, and updating geospatial mapping databases, spatial data analysis using a variety of GIS software and tools, and the development and IT systems consultation and execution of automated production workflows. Candidate should possess a thorough working knowledge of the Esri ArcGIS suite of products for the development of a wide variety of geospatial mapping products, as well as outstanding attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills. This position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities will include:
Daily utilization of ArcMap Suite 10.x and ArcMap Extensions, such as Data Interoperability, Network Analyst, Publisher, and Data Reviewer, for the production of mapping products
Provides IT and GIS support to the IGI&S Program Manager as needed
Ability to produce spatial data sets and mapping layers, and provide analysis utilizing Model Builder
Support the maintenance of geospatial data in the current Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) database structure
Ability to engage customers to determine requirements, propose solutions and assist with implementation
Demonstrated experience with GIS support for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the ability to support for extended periods of time
Willingness to learn new software, procedures, and workflow processes
Ability to meet quality and performance standards

What are we looking for?
Degree in IT, GIS, Geography, Engineering or related field
Strong team player capable of adapting to a changing work environment
Experience working with military and government personnel in a structured environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and short deadlines
Outstanding attention to detail with good problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Army’s IGI&S Program
Experience in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) technologies and industry-standard software
Current government-issued Common Access Card (CAC) or ability to pass background check for the purpose of obtaining a CAC
