About This Position:
Renewable Resource Group is looking for a GIS Programmer-Analyst to join our team. In this position you will handle routine mapping requests but would primarily focus on creating custom software tools for automation, analysis, and data integration. We are looking for applicants with excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to troubleshoot, and who are highly motivated. This position is based in our Bakersfield, California office although remote work may be possible. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Handling routine GIS mapping requests
• Maintaining and updating both proprietary and non-proprietary data sets (both geospatial and non-geospatial)
• Building custom GIS-based geoprocessing tools for automation and analysis to be used in both ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Portal environments
• Designing new web-based mapping applications (potentially on non-ESRI platforms) as well as customizing and extending existing applications
• Accessing and querying PostgreSQL/PostGIS and SQL databases

What We Are Looking For:
Note that you do not have to match all the listed requirements. RRG believes that our organization and culture are made stronger through diverse perspectives and experiences.
• Experience with the ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online) including the Spatial Analyst extension
• Intermediate experience in Python, specifically ArcPy and building tools in the ArcGIS Environment
• Intermediate experience with JavaScript preferred
• Experience troubleshooting software and coordinating with tech support
• Aptitude for problem-solving with strong attention to detail
• Bilingual in Spanish and English beneficial

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Information Technologies or a related field
• 2 years professional experience in GIS and/or as a Developer (Required)
