Pennichuck Water Works is a private water utility engaged in the collection, storage, treatment, distribution and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. We operate both as a regulated water utility operation and a non-regulated water management service. Our Corporate headquarters is located in Nashua, New Hampshire.

GIS Technician II

We are seeking an experienced GIS Technician to play a key role in our Engineering group. In conjunction with your manager and our GIS Administrator, you will use ESRI software to enter, and maintain data including spatial and attribute data from sources such as GPS, sketches and plans. You will work with field staff to correct and update data as needed and ensure the integrity of the GIS data on an ongoing basis, identifying and research questionable information as appropriate.

Our Company currently maintains an Enterprise GIS environment that is tightly integrated with multiple systems within the organization including asset management. Our GIS environment consists of a centralized enterprise GIS database (SQL) with web capabilities provided by ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS.

A major project for the coming year will entail working with our GIS Administrator and our outside consultant to transition from the Geometric Network to the Utility Network.

Qualifications for this role include:

A minimum of an Associates degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering or related field or a GIS certificate. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Three to five years of relevant experience demonstrating a solid understanding of data types, structures, cartographic principles and map projections is required
Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.
Experience authoring web maps and apps in ArcGIS online or Portal is a plus
Experience with SQL, Python and/or Arcade is a plus
Strong troubleshooting, communications and interpersonal skills.
