Role: Cityworks Solutions Engineer

Role Summary: The Solutions Engineer provides support directed at the implementation, maintenance, and advancement of Cityworks Server as a location-based, enterprise system. The role is responsible for assessments and recommendations, application deployment, system administration and configuration, documentation, end user support and training, data analysis, data modeling, web service creation, application testing and troubleshooting.

Work Environment:

Location is flexible: Axim Geospatial Headquarters, Regional offices, or work from home considered
Travel up to 30% of the time

Lead needs assessments/requirements meetings and document solutions to support Cityworks implementations
Configuring and administering Cityworks Server (AMS or PLL)
Familiarity with enterprise GIS software configuration and delivery
Creating map, imagery, and data services
Effectively provide/write system technical recommendations, standard operating procedures, administrative and help documents for clients and technical teams
Capacity to assess customer environments and/or deployment patterns to identify and provide recommendations for improvements in technology, performance, and adoption
Write and execute test plans
Troubleshoot solution errors and dynamically supporting end users
Present technical information fluently to both technical and non-technical audiences
Provide knowledge transfer or training to Cityworks administrators and end users



Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering or related field*
Two or more years of experience installing and configuring Cityworks
Experience in consulting, solution design, software configuration, and operational support
* Additional experience can be substituted for education

Nice to Have:

Experience installing Cityworks Server
Experience configuring and administering Cityworks:
Mobile Solutions (Native App / Respond)
Ability to leverage Cityworks eURL and configure operations dashboards
Understanding of the Cityworks database schema and associated backend management/scripting
Experience designing and developing Crystal Reports or SQL Server Reporting Services
Comfort with Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise platform (Web Adapter, ArcGIS Server, Portal, Data Store), ArcGIS Online, and enterprise geodatabases to support Cityworks
Basic scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL, XML, or HTML)
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Aptitude for analyzing business processes
Experience with data migration and system integration processes


Exceptional customer service mindset
Excellent interpersonal communication, writing, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively with a wide range of people
Strong team skills with the ability to work independently
