The County of Napa is seeking an experienced professional to support enterprise GIS. The duties of this position may include data maintenance, desktop GIS user support, enterprise GIS software administration, the development of custom and off-the-shelf web and mobile GIS applications, and the integration of GIS solutions with multiple systems and technologies, including SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services.
The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited-term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of GIS, SQL, and web development. The minimally qualified candidate will be well versed in Desktop GIS and have the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that will transfer to learning more advanced skills.
Information Systems Specialist II:
$96,304.00 - $115,315.20 Annually
Senior Information Systems Specialist:
$107,681.60 - $129,022.40 Annually
The Recruitment Process:
1. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until the current vacancy is filled.
2. Subject Matter Experts will review responses from supplemental questions on a continuous basis. The most qualified candidates from the scoring of supplemental questions will be invited to an Oral Panel Interview.
3. Oral Panel Interviews will be scheduled on a continuous basis by the hiring department. Only the most qualified candidates from Oral Panel Interviews will be placed on the eligibility list and referred to the hiring manager for further consideration.
Experience and Education
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Two years of integration, development, and administration of enterprise GIS in a governmental or business operation. Experience in GIS is required.
Equivalent to graduation from college with major coursework in computer science, geography, or a closely related field and minor coursework in business principles. Training courses in GIS are highly desired. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
