Position Description:

The West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey is seeking to fill the position of The State GIS Coordinator which serves as the head of the Office of GIS Coordination. This position operates under the oversight of the West Virginia Geographic Information System Policy Council and is housed within the Department of Commerce within the Geological and Economic Survey at WVGES headquarters in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Office of GIS Coordination efforts focuses on facilitating and promoting GIS standards, reducing data collection duplication, and the promotion and advancement of GIS activities in the state. The coordinator both facilitates and collaborates with many committees and groups working toward these goals.
