JOB DESCRIPTION
Far Western has an immediate opening for a GIS Applications Specialist to assist with client GIS and relational database projects. The successful candidate will participate in designing, installing and supporting client solutions including ArcGIS Enterprise configurations, multi-user geodatabase editing, relational database applications as well as producing analytic products for clients. This position will also be expected to provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff, however, it is a non-supervisory role.

The GIS Application Specialist position requires a broad knowledge of ArcGIS applications, comfort with relational databases and excellent analytic skills. This candidate must communicate well with non-technical users and clients, as well as technical analysts and developers. Project management duties will include managing scope and budget, cost estimates for new work, maintaining schedules and reviewing invoices. A significant portion of the workload will include hands on technical work.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
GIS certificate or comparable degree
ArcGIS Enterprise including administration and installation of Portal, Server and datastores
Development of Portal web maps and apps
SQL Server (or other RDBMs)
Knowledge of development of Add-ins and applications in .Net
At least 5 years of previous, relevant experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Javascript development for custom ArcGIS Apps and Widgets
Working knowledge of application security techniques
C#, MVC and WPF technologies
Experience with version control such as git
