We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a Sr. GIS database administrator with deep understanding and experience with database design, database security, database monitoring and database tuning with one or more of the following RDBMS systems: SQL Server, Oracle RDBMS, PostGres. The ideal candidate will be experienced supporting multi-tier enterprise geospatial systems and web applications in cloud and on-prem environments. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of cloud concepts, specifically foundational AWS services such as EC2 and RDS. The ideal candidate is an active listener and go-getter with experience translating customer requirements into enterprising and innovative geospatial solutions. The candidate must be able to propose creative geospatial solutions while maintaining compliance with the customer’s security posture. To perform the duties of the Sr. GIS DBA successfully, the candidate must be:

The following are requirements of the Sr. GIS DBA
• US Citizen
• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or IT related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in the geospatial industry of which more than 4 years as a database administrator.
• Demonstrated experience with multiple RDBMS, with a preference for candidates with Oracle experience.
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or other scripting/programming languages.
• Prior experience troubleshooting user issues in production environments
• Hands on experience with RDBMS installations & configuration
• Experience working with Agile software development teams
• Understanding of ETL concepts, principles, and best-practices
• Highly collaborative with a desire to train and work closely with others.
• Esri Enterprise Administration Technical Certification (Preferred)
• Comp TIA Security+ Certification (Preferred)
• DoD Secret Clearance (Preferred)
