Grouse Mountain Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking a GIS Specialist (GIS II) to support mapping operations and data management for our team in Buffalo, WY. The GIS Specialist will be responsible for managing data and offering GIS support for multiple departments and a variety of projects. This is a full-time/salaried and benefited position for an onsite employee. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and a 401(k) plan with matching. Buffalo is located at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, offering numerous recreational opportunities.

Primary Duties:

Work with our onsite Project Managers and Team Members to understand the scope, requirements, and objectives of a variety of oil and gas, wildlife, cultural resources, renewable energies, and other natural resource projects.
Develop cartographic products using ESRI ArcGIS Pro
Adhere to company standards for spatial data and define standards for new datasets.
Work directly with Team Members to create web maps in ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online, prepare field-ready maps and manage field-collected data.
Investigate solutions to minimally defined scenarios such as in spatial analysis workflows

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2-3 years’ experience using ArcGIS for cartography.
1-2 years’ professional experience in a GIS role
Must be proficient with ArcGIS desktop applications and geospatial theory such as coordinate systems and projections.
Management of natural resource related datasets throughout project lifecycles.
Experience with oil and gas, renewable energies, or natural resource projects preferred.
Professional experience with Web GIS and/or mobile GIS apps preferred

Desired Experience:

Experience using:
ESRI mobile apps for field data collection such as Field Maps and Survey123
ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online to create web maps
File and enterprise geodatabase systems
ArcGIS Pro in spatial analysis workflows
Understanding of:
The Public Land Survey System
Cadastral survey
Land ownership and parcel development
Experience with UAS projects and aerial photography/videography in a commercial setting preferred
