Position Description:

WSOS is a large private non-profit community action agency dedicated to creating partnerships and opportunities to help individuals, families and communities thrive. Our Community Development Department has an immediate opening for a full-time GIS Specialist to join its Ohio Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) GIS Team in Brimfield, Ohio.

Summary: Work with small local governments and non-profit public utilities to develop, populate, and maintain GIS databases. Create and deliver formal training programs, provide on-going technical assistance, and promote incorporation of GIS technologies into operations and planning. Research and pilot new service delivery methods, technology and software. Prepare maps and reports. Assist in deployment, training and technical support for Asset Management software. Perform GPS data collection in the field and learn how to operate and troubleshoot GPS equipment.

Base Pay: $748 -$1,008 per week with excellent benefits

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in GIS Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, Planning, Geography, Information Technology, Environmental Studies, Forestry, or other related fields with significant GIS-related coursework, and training in the use of ESRI ArcGIS software products.

Required Experience: Three to five years of work experience, with at least one year of experience in a dedicated GIS position. At least four years of experience working with MS Word, Excel, and four years using ESRI ArcGIS software. Experience using AGOL and ArcGIS Server preferred.

Additional Requirements
1.Initial and periodic Motor Vehicle Records checks, maintain a valid driver’s license, and maintain a safe driving record.
2.Must have insured, dependable transportation available for daily use.
3.Must submit to state and/or federal criminal checks.
4.Must submit to initial drug and alcohol testing.
