Resources For Job Seekers

Do Your Homework!

The GJC does not vet jobs posted so it is up to you, the user, to do your homework when dealing with any organization. If a job seems too good to be true then it probably is. Make sure you know what you're getting into before moving across the country or across the world.

  • Visit the organizations website to learn more about them
  • Don't share personal information until well into the hiring process
  • Check online business rating websites and the Better Business Bureau
  • Ask for references, speak to current employees
  • Never, ever send or wire money
If you run across a questionable posting please let us know!

Other GIS Job/Career Sites

The GJC isn't the only source for GIS job information (although it is the best <grin>). Here are some other web sites worth checking out:

  • GeoSearch
  • GIS Careers
  • GIS Career Paths (USC)
  • Jobs at GISCafe.com
  • Environmental Science Careers
  • GISJobs.com
  • EcoEmploy
  • GeoJobs.org
  • GIS Gig
  • To suggest a link drop us a note at gjc-info@gjc.org.
